I have been ranked as 4th highest score bearr in test cricket.
The first three cricketers to score high are Sachin Tendulkar, Ricky Ponting and Jacques Kallis.
This ranking is a result of innings where I scored high. In 1996, India's test series against South Africa was my second appearance on the field and I was able to score 148 runs in the third test match. The following matches saw similar scores.

I have been honored with the Padma Shri, which is the fourth highest civilian award in India.
I have also been awarded the Padma Bhushan, which is the third highest civilian award of India.

Bradman Award

Honored with the Bradman Award in Sydney Australia.
The other cricketer to be awarded was Glenn McGrath.
I have also been awarded as the Wisden Cricketer of the Year.

Longest Partnership

Number 3 Batsman (February 1996 to January 2014)

I have been a steady player and due to low probability of an early wicket my partnerships with other batsmen run longer. I hold the record for the longest and second longest partnership with Sachin Tendulkar for 330 runs. It was the first partnership for 300 plus runs. The second record holding partnership is with Sourav Ganguly for 318 runs.

World Cups

Vice-Captain and Captain (February 2003 to March 2008)

I was the vice captain for World Cup 2003 and reached the finals. I was also the captain for the World Cup 2007 but India remained unsuccessful in the championship.

ODI Captaincy
