I have recieved numerous national and international awards.
Time magazine titled me as one of Asian Heroes in 2006. I was selected as the Wisden Cricketer of the Year.
On national level I have won the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna in 1997. It is the highest sporting honor of India.
I have also won the Padma Shri in 1999 and Padma Vibhushan in 2008. The highest civilian honor, Bharat Ratna was won in 2014. The ICC awarded me as the Cricketer of the Year 2010.
I won the Wisden Leading Cricketer in the World in 2010.

One of the best cricketers in the world today. I played for the international Indian team for several years and led the team to victory through good team work and devotion. With strong and consistent batting skills I have scored high runs and maintained the reputation of being a high scorer through out my career. I have set several records and have earned several nicknames. I have been a part of the team through its best phase and I certainly wish to see the sports prosper due to hard working sportsmen who play with the same fire and passion as I did.
